“Two pieces of the land were sold by James F. Jackson in his life time to John Peters, and Frank Lewis and a graveyard lot about 22 feet by 32 feet was sold to William Carpenter. Wesley Craven talked of buying a lot and buried a daughter there, but he never carried the matter through nor paid for the lot”

“I married Mary Jackson, widow of Robert Jackson, and that she had at the time I married four children all named in this suit, and all are now under fourteen years of age.”
From undated letter to Court Judge Samuel Brent from unnamed real estate agents of Alexandria
They state the offer by Garnett Ashby is a good offer. Also make the following comments:
“The land is very broken and irregular in shape and is very narrow in the middle. There is a right of way thereover. There is no recorded Deed for portion. The land is in a colored [sic] section, and there is a colored [sic] cemetery thereon.”
